東京ミュージック & メディアアーツ尚美電子オルガン学科を卒業後、ジャズピアノへ転向。国立音楽院に入学しジャズピアノを今田勝氏、トム・ピアソン氏に師事。常に音を楽しみ笑顔の溢れる演奏をモットーに愛を込めて活動中。

現在は自身のピアノトリオ「Akiko Kaminagane Trio」の他、ジャンルを問わず様々な編成でのライブを各地で行なっている。2018 年、ベーシスト中村健吾プロデュースによる、名知玲美 feat.LimDiddy「Brilliant Colors」をリリース。東京・名古屋・大阪・神戸・岡山・高松の6都市でのライブツアーを行い、ジャズ雑誌にも大きく取り上げられ注目を集めた。

自身がリーダーを務める「Akiko Kaminagane Trio」では、2019年にファーストアルバム「Pleasant Time」、2021年にセカンドアルバム「Prayer」をT-Toc Recordsより全国リリース。どちらも情景が現れるようなオリジナル曲を中心に構成されており、「上質なセンチメントと爽快感溢れるピアノトリオ」と高い評価を得ている。

After graduating from the Electronic Organ Department of Tokyo Music & Media Arts Shobi, she transitioned to jazz piano. She enrolled at the National Music Academy, where she studied jazz piano under the guidance of Masaru Imada and Tom Pearson. With a motto of enjoying music and performing with a smile, she is currently active, sharing her love through her performances.

Currently, in addition to leading her own piano trio, "Akiko Kaminagane Trio," she performs in various ensembles across different genres at live shows throughout the country. In 2018, she released "Brilliant Colors," a project produced by bassist Kengo Nakamura, featuring Rei Mei Nakaichi and Lim Diddy. This album was followed by a live tour across six cities—Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, Okayama, and Takamatsu—garnering significant attention in jazz magazines.

As the leader of the "Akiko Kaminagane Trio," she released her first album, Pleasant Time, in 2019, and her second album, Prayer, in 2021, both through T-Toc Records. Both albums are composed mainly of original pieces that evoke vivid imagery and are highly praised as "a high-quality piano trio with sentiments of refinement and refreshing energy."

幼少期よりバイオリン教育を受け、14歳の時に所属していたオーケストラで欧州演奏旅行にも参加。一方、中学時代からギターも弾き始め、ロック、ブルース、ジャズ、ボサノヴァ、ポップスなどのジャンルを経験する。大学時代からプロのミュージシャンに混じってジャズを軸足とした演奏活動を開始するものの、その後、大学院から銀行系シンクタンクに就職。
エグゼクティブへの道を邁進するかと思われたが、裏表を垣間見てしまった世の中の色々なしくみや、日本の音楽エンタテインメントの現状などに疑問を持ち、もはや離れることが出来なくなっていた音楽の世界へと本格的に身を投じる。音楽キャリアのスタートまでに回り道をしたものの、クラシック音楽教育による基礎的素養、様々なジャンルを経験したことによる自由な音楽性は、『音楽的自然児(by大塚善章/関西JAZZ協会会長)』などと評され、場面ごとに変化に富んだ音色・グルーヴ感にあふれるプレイ・自由なアドリブプレイ等が各方面で安定した評価を得ている。現在は弦楽器7本とリズムセクションで往年のビッグバンドナンバーを奏でる三井大生&Swing Strings Orchestra主催。その他、ソロ・プレイヤーとして、またセクションリーダーとして、ライブ・コンサート・スタジオなどで積極的に活動している。

Since childhood, he received violin training and, at the age of 14, participated in a European concert tour with the orchestra he belonged to. Meanwhile, he also started playing the guitar during junior high school, exploring genres such as rock, blues, jazz, bossa nova, and pop. During his university years, he began performing alongside professional musicians, focusing primarily on jazz. However, after graduate school, he took a detour and began working at a bank-affiliated think tank.

While it seemed he was on a fast track to an executive career, he became disillusioned with various societal systems and the state of Japan’s music entertainment industry. Drawn irresistibly back to the world of music, he made a full commitment to his passion. Despite taking a roundabout path to his music career, his classical music education provided him with a solid foundation, and his experience in diverse genres fostered a unique and free-spirited musical style. He has been described as a "musical natural" (by Yoshio Otsuka, President of the Kansai Jazz Association), earning acclaim for his versatile tonal expression, rich sense of groove, and spontaneous improvisational play.

Currently, he leads the Mitsui Taisei & Swing Strings Orchestra, which performs classic big band numbers with a seven-string ensemble and rhythm section. In addition, he is active as a solo player and section leader, performing energetically in live shows, concerts, and studio recordings.
